Tickets

Tickets need to be purchased in advance (in very rare cases you can buy them on the vehicle, but that can cost more). The list below is a short excerpt of the official page. For more ticket types, and more detailed descriptions of each ticket type, go to the original page.

Single line ticket (vonaljegy)

Price: 350 HUF. Valid for a single travel within the boundaries of Budapest without changing the lines, or for the whole length of the metro lines if you do not interrupt your travel. You need to validate it when getting on the tram or bus. Most devices are electronic, but there are still some old manual devices where you need to insert your ticket from the top, and pull it strongly towards yourself

10-ticket block (10 darabos gyűjtőjegy)

A block of 10 single-line tickets. Price: 3000 HUF

Transfer ticket (átszállójegy)

Price: 530 HUF. You can use it for a single travel with 1 change. The ticket needs to be validated on both lines

24-hour Budapest travelcard

Valid for 24 hours from the indicated date and time (month, day, hour, minute) for an unlimited number of trips within the administrative boundaries of Budapest. Price: 1650 HUF

Budapest 24-hour group travelcard

Valid for 24 hours from the indicated date and time (month, day, hour, minute) for an unlimited number of trips within the administrative boundaries of Budapest. To be used by up to 5 passengers travelling together in the same vehicle. Price: 3300 HUF

5/30 BKK travelcard

The 5/30 BKK travelcard contains 5 coupons, each with a validity period of 24 hours. The travelcard is valid for 30 days from an optional starting day. Before travel, please indicate by crossing out the start date and time (month, day, hour, minute) of your trip on the 24-hour coupon. The start date must be within the indicated 30-day validity period. The individual travelcard coupon is valid for 24 hours from the indicated time and date for an unlimited number of trips
